My mood changes

Changing moods are linked to variations in hormones during the 4 phases of the menstrual cycle.

The 2 hormones responsible for a woman’s cycle are oestrogen and progesterone.

Each person’s experience is different and these changes can vary from one cycle to another. Knowing which phase of the cycle you’re in will help you to cope better with your emotions and organize yourself better.

I invite you to discover the four phases of the cycle:

Phase 1: menstruation (period).

During this phase, you may feel tired, sad or angry, and you may want to be alone more.

But you’re also very thoughtful and creative, with lots of good ideas and intuition. Write down all your ideas in a notebook; they’ll come in handy later in your cycle.

To stay in good spirits during this phase, take some time for yourself and dream…

Before your period, there’s a drop in oestrogen, followed by a drop in the happiness hormone. Depending on the individual, this drop can cause mood swings, a sudden desire to cry, irritability, anger, etc.

Phase 2: Pre-ovulatory phase (after the period)

During this phase, oestrogen levels rise, giving you more energy.

You feel more confident, you’re in a good mood and you can work harder than usual.

It’s the ideal time to organise, take action and get things done.

You’re a magnificent warrior.

Phase 3: Ovulation.

During this phase, hormone levels are at their highest.

You feel beautiful and in a good mood.

You communicate a lot with the outside world, you share, you want to go out and see people.

You’re a real influencer.

Phase 4: The premenstrual phase (before your period).

Before your period, you may feel like you have no control over what’s going on around you, you may feel like crying, you may feel misunderstood or angry… In fact, you just need some peace and quiet around you. You can stop fighting, slow down and observe. At this time you’re like a Queen, you look, you listen and you can easily see what needs to be done. It’s the ideal time to make decisions.
