What is consent?
Your body belongs to you, it’s up to you to decide what you want or don’t want for your body. No one has the right to touch you without your permission, no one has the right to hurt you, beat you, rape you, marry you, circumcise you, lock you up or threaten you if you don’t agree.
That’s what we call consent!
Some boys or men may want to take advantage of your body, and you have the right to say NO to them. You can say that you don’t want them to touch you and that you want to be left alone. If you feel in danger, talk to someone you trust (a mother, sister, cousin, neighbor, etc.). They’ll be able to advise you.
If you don’t have anyone to talk to, the Lydia call center is there to answer your questions in complete confidentiality. These midwives can be contacted free of charge every day from 8am to 10pm.
