Can I play sports during my period?
Sport is very important for physical, mental and intellectual well-being.
Sport is for men and women. It allows us to acquire values and skills that help each of us to develop and respect the other.
Women can do sport when they are menstruating. It’s even good for them. It promotes well-being and reduces menstrual pain. The highest priority is to listen to and understand your body.
During your period, when you move around a lot, you may feel like you’re losing more blood. In fact, it’s the same amount in total, but the blood comes out more easily thanks to the movement. All you need to do is use suitable menstrual pads that are absorbent enough, stay in place and don’t get in your way. Period panties are great for sports, for example (you can order them from the Weerwi shop).
During any physical activity, drink more water, take breaks and above all listen to your body and don’t push it to extremes.
If you’re a keen sportswoman, during your period, rest well before and after sport, massage your tummy and stretch. You’ll be in top form!
